08:18 AM EDT, 10/01/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Monte Rosa Therapeutics (GLUE) said Thursday its experimental drug, MRT-8102, achieved its phase 1 study objectives, showing strong NEK7 degradation and reductions in multiple biomarkers associated with atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease in subjects at elevated CVD risk. In the study, MRT-8102 reduced median NEK7 levels by about 80% to 90% across the 5mg, 20mg and 40mg once-daily doses, while calprotectin, S100A12, SAA, IL-6 and hsCRP declined by 56%, 46%, 51%, 54% and 85%, respectively. The company also said that the drug candidate was well-tolerated over four weeks of dosing and follow-up with no serious adverse events and treatment-emergent adverse events reported in 33% of participants, compared with 30% for placebo. Monte Rosa plans to initiate a phase 2 gout study in Q4 2026 or Q1 2027, followed by studies in coronary artery disease and hidradenitis suppurativa in 2027.
