US leading indicators decline in August for the first time since March

Of the ten component indicators, four declined compared to the previous month, with consumer expectations continuing to be a significant drag on the index. The number of building permits also fell month-on-month, with decreases in both single-family and multi-family home categories, and almost all regions recorded a decline.
