03:20 PM EDT, 09/03/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were mixed late Thursday afternoon, with the State Street Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLP) decreasing 0.2% and the State Street Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLY) rising 1.6%. In corporate news, John Wiley & Sons' (WLY) shares rose 1.5% after it reported fiscal Q1 results above analyst estimates.
