Zhitong Finance APP reported that on Monday, some US stock storage sector shares rose. As of press time, SanDisk (SNDK.US) was up more than 2%, SK hynix (SKHY.US) up more than 1.8%, and Micron Technology (MU.US) was up nearly 1%. According to reports, SK hynix is evaluating the construction of a semiconductor factory in Japan to improve its global production capacity layout and meet the demand for memory chips driven by AI. Japan has become a potential option due to its electricity and water resources as well as industrial chain advantages. The company is inspecting various locations, and the cooperation model has not been decided yet; it may involve joint ventures or acquisitions. This move will also deepen cooperation with clients such as Sony and Nintendo, as well as suppliers like Tokyo Electron, helping diversify supply chain risks.
