Kazakhstan increased its uranium production in the first six months of 2026 by 9% year-on-year, Kazatomprom, the world’s largest uranium producer, reported on Monday.

It said it had produced 13,291 tons of uranium in the first half of the year compared to 12,242 in the first six months of 2025.

Kazatomprom sells uranium oxide concentrate, an intermediate product in the processing of natural uranium into nuclear fuel, under long-term contracts with only small volumes sold on the spot market.

Kazakh state fund Samruk-Kazyna owns 75% of Kazatomprom’s shares, which since 2019 are listed on the London Stock Exchange.
