Top Investor Says XRP Price Will Match Progress. Here’s why
Frustration over XRP’s price performance is becoming harder to ignore.#
While the price has struggled to reflect the broader activity surrounding the XRP Ledger, institutions continue to enter the ecosystem, developers are competing at hackathons, tokenized assets are expanding, and new amendments are creating more opportunities for DeFi.
The progress is visible and documented, yet XRP’s market performance has not fully reflected that growth. That gap is the focus of a video posted on X by prominent XRP commentator Digital Asset Investor.
DAI’s Prediction
Digital Asset Investor addressed the disconnect head-on. “I know everybody’s frustrated right now about XRP’s price,” he said, “but my prediction is that everything that you’re seeing going on on the ground right now, the price will eventually match all the plumbing that’s been laid and all the foundation that’s been laid.”
He cited a range of developments contributing to that foundation. Institutions are coming onto the XRP Ledger. Hackathon competitors are building for XRPL. Community activity around culture and art is at an all-time high. Tokenized assets are ramping up. New amendments are unlocking liquidity and capital through DeFi.
“The XRP community is literally where everything is currently unfolding,” he said. “Those prices will match. It’s just a matter of time and I think they’ll match in a big way.”
Community Responses
Reactions to the video were mixed. Apache XRP pushed back firmly. “XRP price performance is pathetic and you know it,” he wrote. “People would of made money in potato stocks.”
Others raised structural questions. XRP Picasso acknowledged the activity but questioned the link between ecosystem growth and token demand. “Ripple’s growth and XRPL adoption don’t automatically guarantee higher token prices,” he wrote. “The real question is: does that progress create sustained XRP buying demand, or just better headlines?”
Peanut Gallery broadened the question to the wider market. “Are all these other crypto projects really making enough progress to justify their high prices?”
Jonezy challenged the supply side of the equation. He pointed to Ripple’s escrow releases, noting an average of 300 million XRP released per month and arguing it would take 12 years to deplete the escrow at that rate.
The Core Question
Digital Asset Investor’s argument rests on the assumption that ecosystem development eventually translates into price appreciation. His critics question whether that translation is automatic. The foundation he describes is visible. Whether it produces the price movement he anticipates remains an open question for the XRP community.
