Cerebras (CBRS.US) secures a major Oracle contract: to be deployed in 2027, stock price surged up to 10%

Zhitong Finance APP reports that Oracle (ORCL.US) will offer cloud services powered by Cerebras (CBRS.US) computers in its data centers, giving this emerging company—which is challenging Nvidia’s dominance in AI hardware—another major client. Cerebras sells computers built with an innovative chip design: crafting massive chips out of an entire silicon wafer, whereas typically a wafer is used to produce multiple processors. The chip manufacturer claims that this approach allows its products to deliver meaningful results for AI queries (i.e., inference) faster than competitors. The two companies stated in a joint release on Tuesday that Oracle Cloud Infrastructure will begin deploying the relevant equipment in the first half of 2027.
