Strategy (MSTR) shares have remained confined to a narrow trading band, moving between recent highs and lows as Bitcoin’s price rally has slowed. The stock is currently priced at $142.70, reflecting a decline from its September peak of $170. This period of steady movement in both asset classes may mark a temporary pause before renewed volatility, following a noteworthy prediction from JPMorgan regarding Bitcoin’s long-term prospects.
JPMorgan predicts Bitcoin to outperform stocks, MSTR eyes rebound
JPMorgan projects stronger performance for Bitcoin
JPMorgan analysts have expressed confidence that Bitcoin will eventually outperform stocks, bonds, and gold. Bitcoin rose to $126,200 earlier this year but has since decreased by more than 30%. Meanwhile, the S&P 500 remains near record levels, benefiting from strength in artificial intelligence and energy stocks.
Despite this underperformance, JPMorgan estimates that Bitcoin may generate average annual returns of about 10% moving forward. The bank’s view contrasts with recent market trends, where stocks have outpaced cryptocurrencies for much of the year.
Several leading analysts share a bullish outlook for Bitcoin. Strategy’s founder, Michael Saylor, has continued acquiring Bitcoin based on the belief that it has significant upward potential. Vivek Ramaswamy, whose asset management firm Strive is actively accumulating Bitcoin, and Tom Lee, another well-known analyst, both maintain optimism about Bitcoin’s future performance.
JPMorgan expects Bitcoin to deliver stronger long-term returns than traditional stocks and other asset classes, estimating an annualized gain around 10%.
Blackrock, which operates the largest Bitcoin ETF, views the cryptocurrency as an effective hedge, especially as US government debt surpasses $40 trillion. This high level of government borrowing has led some institutions to reconsider traditional risk assets.
As the largest holder of Bitcoin among public companies, Strategy stands to benefit most if bullish forecasts are met. The company recently added 267 Bitcoins, bringing its total holdings to 848,517 and valuing its portfolio at $70.2 billion.
Recent trading activity points to renewed interest from US investors in Bitcoin-related funds. Bitcoin ETFs registered $550 million in purchases on a single day, cutting net outflows to $90 million. Sustained momentum could result in Bitcoin ETFs achieving a fourth consecutive month of net inflows.
Mini dictionary: Strategy (MSTR) is a publicly traded company known for holding large reserves of Bitcoin as part of its treasury strategy. Founded by Michael Saylor, the firm has become one of the most prominent corporate holders of cryptocurrency assets.
Bitcoin technical outlook and upside potential
Technical analysis of Bitcoin’s daily chart suggests potential for further price gains in the near term. Bitcoin has formed a falling wedge pattern—an arrangement of descending and converging trendlines typically associated with an upcoming bullish breakout.
Furthermore, Bitcoin continues to trade above both the Supertrend indicator and its 100-day moving average. A rebound could lift the price toward resistance at $87,254. Should Bitcoin break through this barrier, it may advance toward the $90,000 mark, and potentially reach $100,000, which would raise the value of Strategy’s Bitcoin holdings to approximately $85 billion.

MSTR stock outlook
MSTR’s daily stock chart indicates the price has recently retreated from $170 to $142, with decreasing momentum as measured by the Average Directional Index (ADX), which fell from 40 to 24. The stock remains above a key ascending trendline that connects its lower points since August.
Based on technical support and current market dynamics, Strategy’s stock could see a renewed rally, with potential targets at $170 and $200, if market conditions improve and Bitcoin maintains upward momentum.
Technical indicators point to possible gains for MSTR, given the support from both Bitcoin’s price action and strong institutional forecasts.
