Bitwise’s latest $1.17 million LINK transfer from Wintermute adds to a broader pattern of institutional activity around Chainlink [LINK].
The repeated depositing of money into the Bitwise Chainlink ETF is indicative of continuing investment in the Chainlink ETF. According to SoSoValue data, the two-day chain of inflows in this period added approximately $10 million in new capital into the Chainlink ETF.
However, the influx of new capital did not lead to an increase in the value of funds invested.

The cumulative net inflows had been at roughly $179.61 million. However, the total net assets declined from $249.41 million to $229.38 million.
As such, it appears that the decline in the price of LINK has resulted in decreased value of all funds despite increased investor exposure.
Sustained levels of investment may potentially add to institutional support for Link, as well as provide a basis for the price of LINK to recover from current market conditions.
However, unless there is an increase in demand, the price of LINK will be subject to diminished trading volume.
Chainlink secures 60% of the Oracle market
LINK’s dominance indicates how heavily DeFi protocols rely on its oracle infrastructure to secure assets and support financial activity. Chainlink currently controls an estimated 60.28% of all tracked oracle value, currently sitting near $36.6 billion across over 530 protocols.

This lead gives Chainlink a substantial advantage because lending markets, derivatives, and other forms of tokenized assets need to be able to access reliable external information.
Currently, internal accounts for 13.10% of the tracked oracle value, with Chronicle accounting for 8.19%, showing the sizeable disadvantage competitors must close.
Market share may make it increasingly difficult for competing oracles to gain traction as DeFi activity increases. Nevertheless, having more market value does not necessarily mean there will be increased demand for LINK tokens. Therefore, continued expansion of LINK’s value is what ultimately determines the success of Chainlinks’ expansion.
Chainlink’s expansion into tokenized assets is extending its role beyond DeFi price feeds into institutional financial infrastructure. Its Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) supports transfers across networks, while oracle services provide data for tokenized equities and treasuries.
With the launch of CCIP v2.0, Chainlink can now offer institutions even greater control. This includes cross-chain asset transfers and compliance-related regulations associated with tokenized assets.
This wider use could generate recurring fees as institutions move beyond pilot projects. In other words, if they expand their usage of CCIP, then there should be additional ongoing revenues generated by these activities.
Yet adoption alone cannot guarantee stronger token demand. Sustained growth in CCIP usage, service revenue, and LINK-based payments would provide clearer evidence that institutional expansion could benefit token holders.
Final Summary
-
Chainlink attracts institutional interest and secures 60.28% of tracked oracle value.
-
LINK needs stronger CCIP adoption and revenue to boost token demand.
