HPQ Silicon Says First Batch of Prototype Batteries Delivered to French Army
MT newswire2026/10/06 15:3511:35 AM EDT, 10/06/2026 (MT Newswires) -- HPQ Silicon (HPQ.V) reported on Tuesday it partner company Novacium delivered the first batch of prototype batteries meant for tactical radio sets to the French Army Technical Section (STAT). Novacium-designed batteries offer double the energy capacity of the batteries currently in service, a statement said. The battery prototypes will now be evaluated under operational conditions. "The delivery of this first batch illustrates Novacium's ability to transform its anode-material expertise into batteries designed for critical applications," said Bernard Tourillon, HPQ Silicon chief executive officer. "If the evaluation phase confirms the expected performance, this program could provide a technical basis for offering the solution to other allied forces with comparable requirements. For HPQ, this program also illustrates the strategic value of our 36.8% interest in Novacium and of its activities in the defence sector," Tourillon added. HPQ shares were last seen up CA$0.005 to CA$0.14 on the TSX Venture Exchange. Price: 0.14, Change: +0.01, Percent Change: +3.70
