Infleqtion, Honeywell, UCSB Build Prototype to Shrink Quantum Hardware to Chip Scale
MT newswire2026/10/06 14:2110:21 AM EDT, 10/06/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Infleqtion (INFQ), Honeywell International's (HON) aerospace unit and the University of California, Santa Barbara, developed an integrated optical "cavity" designed to shrink quantum sensor size and support scalable quantum hardware manufacturing. The prototype, fabricated on a silicon nitride chip at Honeywell Aerospace's photonics foundry, uses a semiconductor-industry process that reduces the space required for laser stabilization and may enable handheld quantum sensors, Infleqtion said Tuesday in a statement. The collaboration combines Infleqtion's quantum systems work, Honeywell's manufacturing capabilities and research from the university. Infleqtion shares rose 2% in Tuesday trading, and Honeywell fell 1.2%. Price: 12.90, Change: +0.24, Percent Change: +1.90
