MT newswire2026/10/06 12:5608:56 AM EDT, 10/06/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Technology stocks were advancing premarket Tuesday, with both the State Street Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLK) and iShares Semiconductor ETF (SOXX) 0.6% higher. Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) is planning to "substantially increase" its chip supply next year to meet rising demand driven by the AI boom, Reuters reported, citing Chief Executive Lisa Su at a media briefing in Taipei. Shares of AMD were up more than 2% pre-bell.
