Standard Uranium Begins Additional Ground Exploration on the Corvo Uranium Project
MT newswire2026/10/06 12:4908:49 AM EDT, 10/06/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Standard Uranium (STND.V) initiated additional ground exploration on its Corvo Uranium Project, Eastern Athabasca Basin, Saskatchewan, currently under a three-year earn-in option agreement with Aventis Energy (AVE.CN), it said Tuesday. The company said exploration crews mobilized to site on Oct. 1, to start a detailed surface mapping and sampling program across historical uranium showings and newly identified zones of interest. The company expects the fall 2026 Program to focus on prospective areas around and along strike of the winter 2026 inaugural drilling campaign which confirmed "anomalous" uranium in all nine completed drill holes, it said. A prospecting, mapping, and geochemical sampling program, which is underway, will expand on newly identified and historical uranium-bearing outcrops, said the company. The exploration program will be funded by Aventis Energy, with Standard Uranium operating the exploration, added the company. "We are fortunate to have sufficient outcrop exposure at Corvo to allow us to link detailed mapping and sampling work with our new subsurface drilling and geochemistry data," said Sean Hillacre, President & VP Exploration of Standard Uranium. "We aim to expand on known mineralized areas on the Project and discover additional surface showings prior to follow-up drilling in 2027."
