06:19 AM EDT, 10/06/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Treasuries weakened in Asia early Tuesday, while December Brent stabilized around $100 a barrel and major currencies traded within narrow ranges, according to Commerzbank Research in a note. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said third-quarter US gross domestic product growth was "well in excess of 3%," adding that stronger growth should drive the debt-to-GDP ratio down "very, very quickly," wrote Commerzbank in the note. President Donald Trump is expected to ease restrictions on the use of tax-exempt red diesel, according to Bloomberg. Iran said it was "meaningless" to hold talks with the US, added the bank. Both sides are expected to call for a basic vote of confidence at Wednesday's coalition committee meeting in Germany, according to Bild. Many Bank of Japan policymakers remain hesitant to raise rates in October, opting instead to wait for further evidence on financial conditions, Reuters reported. Japanese government bonds recovered after a strong 10-year auction, said Commerzbank.
