Leonardo DRS Completes Training and Delivery of Thermal Weapon Sights for Australian Army
MT newswire2026/10/06 09:5205:52 AM EDT, 10/06/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Leonardo DRS (DRS) completed final training and delivery of Improved Night/Day Observation Device Block III thermal weapon sights for the Australian Army, the company said late Monday. The clip-on thermal weapon sight, provided under the LAND 159 Tranche 1 program, uses a micro-cooled 640-by-480 mid-wave infrared focal plane array to provide thermal imagery and target discrimination in conditions that can limit conventional optics, the company said. NIOA, the prime contractor for LAND 159 Tranche 1, managed delivery logistics on behalf of the Australian Army, Leonardo DRS said. Shares of Leonardo DRS were up more than 1% in pre-bell activity on Tuesday.
