The projects at Beaver Valley in Pennsylvania and Davis-Besse and Perry in Ohio are expected to preserve nearly 4 gigawatts of baseload power, add 433 megawatts of nuclear capacity and support about 3,000 project-related jobs. The projects would extend the plants' operations by 20 years, with the DOE commitment also including an option to finance future uprates at Vistra's Comanche Peak plant in Texas, the DOE added. Vistra shares were up 1.2% in premarket activity.
