MT newswireMT newswire2026/10/06 08:27

04:27 AM EDT, 10/06/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Alphabet's (GOOGL, GOOG) Google is nearing a deal to secure nuclear power from Constellation Energy (CEG), Bloomberg reported late Monday, citing people familiar with the discussions. Under the terms of the proposal under consideration, Google would pay Constellation $1 billion or more over the course of a multi-year deal that is set to be announced as early as this week, the report said. The source said nuclear plants can provide around-the-clock electricity without emissions, while new reactors can take a decade or longer to permit and build, Bloomberg reported. The exact scale and location of the nuclear reactor was not disclosed, the report said. Google and Constellation did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
