Blackstone to Sell Clarion to Informa for $2.96 Billion
MT newswire2026/10/06 08:1604:16 AM EDT, 10/06/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Blackstone (BX) agreed to sell B2B events operator Clarion to Informa for an enterprise value of 2.24 billion British pounds ($2.96 billion), Informa said Tuesday. The buyer will fund the acquisition using dedicated financing alongside a 940 million-pound equity placing and retail offer, Informa said. The transaction is expected to close in Q4 pending regulatory approvals, it added. Informa also announced plans to separate its Taylor & Francis academic publishing unit to focus entirely on its core events business, the company said. The review will consider options for the business, with an update expected alongside Informa's 2026 full-year results in March 2027, according to the company.
