Greenbrier Challenges UTLX's Claims in Tank Car Trade Petition
MT newswire2026/10/06 07:3303:33 AM EDT, 10/06/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Greenbrier (GBX) has disputed claims in a trade petition filed by Berkshire Hathaway's (BRK.A, BRK.B) unit UTLX Manufacturing over railway tank cars, the railcar maker said late Monday. UTLX, which designs and constructs tank cars, is seeking anti-dumping and countervailing duties on certain railway tank cars and parts. Greenbrier rejected allegations that it has abandoned US tank car production and American workers, as well as claims that its tank cars are "unfairly priced or subsidized." The Oregon-based company said it will defend its record before the US Department of Commerce and the US International Trade Commission.
