EV Nickel Forms Subsidiary to Advance Bioleaching Technology
MT newswire2026/10/05 20:5604:56 PM EDT, 10/05/2026 (MT Newswires) -- EV Nickel (EVNI.V) after trade Monday said it formed a wholly owned subsidiary focused on developing and commercializing bioleaching technology for nickel processing. The company also signed a memorandum of understanding with Weber Manufacturing Technologies to explore an integrated Canadian mine-to-nickel-product supply chain, it said. Per the proposed deal, the companies will assess producing nickel powders and related products in Canada using mixed hydroxide precipitates from EV Nickel's Timmins, Ontario-area projects. "EV Nickel believes that the development of domestic nickel processing technologies represents an important opportunity to increase the value captured from Canadian nickel resources while supporting the Canadian domestic critical-mineral supply-chain security," the company said. EV Nickel shares closed at CA$0.14 on the TSX Venture Exchange.
