MT newswireMT newswire2026/10/05 19:04

03:04 PM EDT, 10/05/2026 (MT Newswires) -- GE Healthcare Technologies' (GEHC) planned $945 million acquisition of Sofie Biosciences should enable it to vertically integrate its radiopharmaceuticals portfolio and adds a phase 3 asset to its pipeline, Needham said in a Monday note. With the acquisition, GEHC should be able to integrate production and distribution of its radiopharmaceuticals portfolio. Sofie's distribution network includes 15 CMO sites across the US with two coming soon, Needham analysts said, citing the firm's website. The acquisition also brings US rights to FAPI-74, Sofie's F18 fibroblast activation protein inhibitor asset that is in phase 3 and to which GE Healthcare already owns the rights outside the US. With trials for the drug estimated to complete in H2 of 2027, the analysts said they expect potential commercialization in 2029 at the earliest. Needham reiterated its buy rating on the company, with a $93 price target. Shares of GE Healthcare were up more than 2% in Monday afternoon trading. Price: 65.61, Change: +1.32, Percent Change: +2.05
