Telus, AST SpaceMobile Complete First Satellite-to-Smartphone Integration Test
MT newswire2026/10/05 14:2710:27 AM EDT, 10/05/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Telus' (TU) wireless network and AST SpaceMobile's (ASTS) space-based system completed their first satellite-to-smartphone integration test, the companies said Monday. The integration, improving access to broadband data services, voice calls, and text messages directly between smartphones and satellites, is expected to support connectivity for remote parts of Canada where traditional cell service isn't available, the companies said.
