09:34 AM EDT, 10/05/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Satellos Bioscience (MSCL.TO, MSLE) was granted US Patent No. 12,747,245, entitled "AP2 associated kinase 1 inhibitors and uses thereof," by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), it said Monday. The US patent includes composition of matter claims covering forazapadin, the company's lead clinical-stage drug candidate, and a broader class of AAK1 inhibitors and related compounds within Satellos' muscle-regeneration platform. The composition of matter provides US intellectual property protection through Sept. 6, 2044, as forazapadin advances in Phase 2 development, it added. "As the strongest form of patent protection for a pharmaceutical product, this patent reinforces the novelty of our approach to restoring muscle regeneration and strengthens our intellectual property (IP) estate surrounding forazapadin," chief executive Frank Gleeson said. Shares of the company closed unchanged at CA$12.01 Friday on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
