American Electric Power's Kentucky Power to Double Contracted Electric Demand With TeraWulf
MT newswire2026/10/05 13:1609:16 AM EDT, 10/05/2026 (MT Newswires) -- American Electric Power's (AEP) Kentucky Power said Monday it has signed an amended agreement to double its contracted electric demand with TeraWulf (WULF). The amended agreement, subject to approval from the Kentucky Public Service Commission, is expected to provide $100 million in winter bill credits for customers over the first 10 years of the contract, Kentucky Power said. The agreement would raise contracted electric demand at TeraWulf's Muskie Data campus in Grayson, Kentucky, to one gigawatt from 500 megawatts and move up the planned second 500-megawatt phase to 2029 from 2030, the company said. TeraWulf also agreed to pay the estimated financing costs associated with construction of Kentucky Power's planned 760 megwatt combined-cycle generation facility at Big Sandy in the eastern part of the state. American Electric Power shares were up 1.4%, while TeraWulf added 2.7% in premarket trading.
