09:09 AM EDT, 10/05/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Critical Metals (CRML) said Monday that Greenland's government approved the mining and closure plans for its Tanbreez rare earths project in southern Greenland. The company said the approvals, covering the project through September 2050, allow for the planned extraction of 19 elements, including heavy rare earths such as terbium, dysprosium and yttrium, as well as neodymium and praseodymium. Critical Metals said the plans cover construction and operation of the mine, processing facilities, port and related infrastructure, along with eventual site closure and rehabilitation. The company said it plans to obtain operating permits covering environmental management, marine transport, health and safety, and mineral exports and sales, and construction can begin once those permits are secured and required financial guarantees are in place. Shares of the company were up 10% in Monday's premarket activity.

Korean retail investors shift to the US in Q3: Sold over 5.5 trillion won of Korean stocks, purchased more than 10 trillion won of US stocks

In the third quarter, Korean retail investors made net purchases of US stocks worth approximately 10.15 trillion won, marking a complete reversal from the previous pattern in the first half of the year, when they made net purchases of nearly 100 trillion won in KOSPI stocks. In September alone, the sell-off amount reached as high as 14.2 trillion won. Analysts attribute this shift to a combination of factors: a sharp decline in KOSPI at high levels, the continued strength of the US stock market driven by AI themes, and the appreciation of the Korean won reducing currency exchange costs.
