Pacira Biosciences Grants Molteni Exclusive Rights to Commercialize EXPAREL in EU, UK

08:41 AM EDT, 10/05/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Pacira Biosciences (PCRX) said Monday it has granted Molteni Farmaceutici exclusive rights to distribute and commercialize EXPAREL in the European Union and the United Kingdom. Under the agreement, Pacira will receive an undisclosed upfront payment, a supply price and royalties on future sales of EXPAREL, a local analgesic for postsurgical pain management. Pacira will manufacture the product. Molteni will lead regulatory, market-access and commercialization activities across the licensed territories, Pacira said. The company plans to launch EXPAREL sequentially in Italy, Germany, Austria and Poland, while pursuing approval in Switzerland. The first commercial sale is expected in 2027.
