October 5 – Vaxcyte (PCVX.O) shares surged 26% pre-market to $71.17. Vaxcyte announced that its 31-valent pneumococcal vaccine VAX-31 met all primary endpoints in a late-stage clinical trial, and generated immune responses comparable to or stronger than Pfizer’s Prevnar 20 and Merck’s Capvaxive. The safety and tolerability of the vaccine were similar to existing vaccines. Vaxcyte expects results from two additional late-stage clinical trials in the first half of 2027, and plans to submit a marketing application to the FDA in the first half of 2028. As of the previous trading session’s close, the stock had risen 22.4% year-to-date.

BUZZ-Alector stock surges after agreement with Genentech on an experimental Parkinson's disease drug

October 5 - The stock price of pharmaceutical company Alector (ALEC.O) surged by 44.20% in pre-market trading, reaching $2.61.
