China Advances Seven International Standards for Natural Gas Successfully Established
智通财经2026/10/05 03:05According to information from the State Administration for Market Regulation, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has recently approved the establishment of seven international natural gas standards led by China. These standards cover key upstream segments of the industry chain, including shale gas exploration and development, carbon footprint accounting for natural gas, natural gas reservoir core sampling, and natural gas hydrate testing. The implementation of these standards will help create unified global technical rules for natural gas, and promote the development of a clean, low-carbon, safe, and efficient global energy system. Among them, three standards related to shale gas testing will provide unified technical guidelines for unconventional oil and gas development, addressing shortcomings in shale gas reserve assessment and engineering safety regulations.
