Sector Update: Tech

01:07 PM EDT, 10/02/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Tech stocks were higher Friday afternoon, with the State Street Technology Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLK) rising 1.2% and the State Street SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF (XSD) climbing 4.1%. The Philadelphia Semiconductor index gained 3%. In corporate news, Oracle (ORCL) plans to subscribe to a portion of the power generated by Wisconsin's Point Beach Nuclear Plant, a move expected to save utility customers about $300 million in fuel costs, the company said Friday. Oracle shares were up 2%.
