Pfizer Says Litfulo Improves Facial, Total Body Repigmentation in Vitiligo Studies

MT newswireMT newswire2026/10/02 16:15
12:15 PM EDT, 10/02/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Pfizer (PFE) said its oral treatment Litfulo led to significant facial and total body repigmentation in two phase 3 studies of adults with nonsegmental vitiligo, a chronic condition marked by the loss of pigment-producing cells. Continuous improvements began at week 24 and increased through week 52, the company said Friday in a report. Litfulo is taken once daily. Pfizer said about 22% of patients receiving the 100 mg dose achieved at least a 75% improvement in facial repigmentation compared with about 2% on placebo, while 13% reached at least a 50% improvement in total body repigmentation versus about 2% on placebo. With the 50 mg dose, roughly 12% achieved the facial endpoint and about 9% reached the total body endpoint, compared with about 2% on placebo for each measure. The safety profile was consistent with Litfulo's established profile in alopecia areata, with no new safety signals reported, the company said. Pfizer said it plans to submit the data to global regulators, including the US Food and Drug Administration and European Medicines Agency. Price: 27.46, Change: -0.66, Percent Change: -2.35

BUZZ-Revolution Medicines stock drops due to concerns over pancreatic cancer drug data

On October 8, Revolution Medicines (RVMD.O) shares fell 8.1% in afternoon trading to $185.91. RBC Capital Markets stated that the share price decline appeared to be driven by the latest U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) review documents regarding the company's pancreatic cancer drug Rasonque, particularly the disclosure of objective response rate data for specific RAS mutation subgroups. RBC pointed out that overall survival, rather than objective response rate, is a more meaningful indicator of efficacy, and that the sell-off overlooked Rasonque's broad activity across a variety of RAS mutation subgroups. RBC stated: "While we acknowledge that today's share price decline takes place against the backdrop of overall weakness in the biotech sector, we still believe that the market's reaction to the FDA review documents is an overreaction, given that the drug was approved on the basis of highly clinically meaningful efficacy and has received positive feedback from physicians." Including intraday fluctuations, the stock has more than doubled year-to-date.
