First Solar Sues JA Solar, American Panel Solutions Over TOPCon Patent

05:24 PM EDT, 10/01/2026 (MT Newswires) -- First Solar (FSLR) filed a patent infringement lawsuit against JA Solar and American Panel Solutions, alleging unauthorized use of technology covered by a US patent for manufacturing TOPCon solar cells, the company said Thursday. The lawsuit was filed in the US District Court for the District of Delaware and alleges infringement of First Solar's US Patent, according to a statement. First Solar acquired the TOPCon patents through its 2013 purchase of TetraSun, it said.
