Lincoln National Reports Closing of $6.3 Billion Reinsurance Transaction With Talcott

05:09 PM EDT, 10/01/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Lincoln National (LNC) said late Thursday it has closed its reinsurance transaction of $6.3 billion with Talcott Financial Group, effective Thursday. The transaction includes the reinsurance by a Talcott subsidiary of approximately $5.8 billion of in-force guaranteed universal life statutory reserves, representing approximately 37% of Lincoln's remaining in-force guaranteed universal life block, the company said.
