01:23 PM EDT, 10/01/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks were higher Thursday afternoon, with the NYSE Energy Sector Index rising 0.9% and the State Street Energy Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLE) adding 1.3%. The Philadelphia Oil Service Sector Index increased 0.8%, and the Dow Jones US Utilities Index advanced 0.2%. Front-month West Texas Intermediate crude oil rose 1.8% to $92.04 a barrel, and the global benchmark Brent crude contract climbed 3.4% to $101.32 a barrel. Henry Hub natural gas futures fell 2% to $2.97 per 1 million BTU. In corporate news, Constellation Energy (CEG) shares rose 2.1% after the company and Amazon (AMZN) said late Wednesday they have signed a long-term agreement to support investment in and expansion of the Calvert Cliffs Clean Energy Center in Maryland. The deal is expected to back over $3 billion in infrastructure investment at the 1,790-megawatt nuclear plant, the companies said.

BUZZ - Texas Roadhouse shares rise after Evercore ISI upgrades stock rating to "outperform"

October 5th - Shares of the restaurant chain Texas Roadhouse (ticker: TXRH.O) rose 1.2% in pre-market trading to $158.01 after Evercore ISI upgraded the stock from "in line" to "outperform." The brokerage lowered its target price from $220 to $200, which still represents a 28% upside from the stock's previous closing price of $156.14. Evercore stated that the comprehensive deployment of digital kitchen systems gives the restaurant greater confidence to manage peak-time demand, which will drive further growth in its takeout business and allow the company to test new menu items after years of limited innovation. The brokerage added that Texas Roadhouse’s pricing strategy is to keep prices below the inflation rate while continuing to focus on service, value, and execution, which should help maintain strong same-store sales growth. Of the 28 brokers covering the stock, 16 have a "buy" or higher rating, while 12 have a "hold" rating; the median target price is $211, according to LSEG compiled data.
