UBS: iPhone 18 Pro series wait time shows average performance, rates Apple (AAPL.US) as “Neutral”

Apple is benefiting from the iPhone Duo craze, but UBS expects the iPhone Pro wait time to "remain steady".

According to Jinse Finance APP, Counterpoint Research previously released the first sales estimate for the iPhone Duo, stating that this model may sell 6 million units this year. However, UBS indicated that the delivery wait times for the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are “essentially unchanged.” UBS rates Apple (AAPL.US) as Neutral with a target price of $296.

UBS analyst David Vogt wrote in a client report: “UBS Evidence Lab data, which tracks iPhone supply across over 30 countries and regions, shows that wait times week-over-week remained relatively flat. The Pro in the US market is the only obvious difference, with a decrease of about 2 days week-over-week. Thus, the average wait time overall is roughly the same as last year, with only the following notable differences: US Pro (down 2 days year-on-year), China Pro (up 2 days year-on-year), and China Pro Max (down 4 days year-on-year). The year-on-year difference for China’s Pro Max has remained relatively consistent throughout the survey, which may indicate that consumers are waiting for next month’s Duo launch. We believe that existing Pro Max users upgrading their devices—especially in China—are most likely to be the initial market for this new form factor.”

Counterpoint said earlier on Wednesday that panel procurement for the iPhone 18 Pro, Pro Max, and Duo is slightly higher than for the iPhone 17 series, with Pro and Pro Max both up 2% year-on-year. The rest of the increase is attributed to the iPhone Duo—Apple’s first foldable phone. The starting price of the 256 GB version of the iPhone Duo is $1,999, with a maximum available storage of 2 TB.

The iPhone Duo is similar in size to a passport, features two rounded corners, and is the thinnest iPhone ever made by the tech giant. The new phone has aviation-grade titanium borders, an all-new exterior design, and comes equipped with a 7.6-inch Super Retina XDR display. It is 50% larger than the iPhone 18 Pro Max, and 80% larger than the iPhone Pro. Pre-orders for this model begin on October 16, with official sales starting on October 23.

Constellation Brands, the maker of Corona beer, exceeds market expectations in the second quarter thanks to strong demand

Reuters, October 6 - Constellation Brands (STZ.N) reported on Tuesday that its second-quarter profit and sales both exceeded market expectations, thanks to strong demand for its beer products such as Modelo Especial and Victoria, which effectively offset challenges facing the alcohol sector amid weak consumer sentiment. The company also announced that it had acquired SpikedAde, a ready-to-drink (RTD) company with vodka-based products, for at least $75 million, as part of its strategy to expand into new demand segments and strengthen its position in the fast-growing RTD category. Constellation Brands will pay $75 million upon the closing of the SpikedAde deal, and up to an additional $278 million over the next five years, depending on the brand’s performance and the company’s capital allocation priorities. The company’s beer business benefited this year from major sports events, as the FIFA World Cup and NBA Finals boosted viewing parties and social drinking occasions. According to data compiled by London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG), net sales for the quarter ended August 31 rose 6% to $2.63 billion, surpassing analysts’ average estimate of $2.54 billion. Adjusted earnings per share for the quarter were $3.74, above the expected $3.56. The wine and spirits business reported quarterly net sales growth of 17%, while beer increased by 5%. Constellation Brands reaffirmed its fiscal 2027 performance outlook: adjusted earnings per share between $11.20 and $11.90, with organic net sales expected to range from a 1% decline to a 1% increase. The company lowered its annual operating margin forecast from the previous 32%-33% range to between 31% and 32%. Its stock fell 4.5% in after-hours trading, with a year-to-date drop of about 16%. In April, the company withdrew its fiscal 2028 performance outlook, citing a turbulent operating environment and uncertain near-term prospects.
