09:07 AM EDT, 10/01/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Vir Biotechnology (VIR) said Thursday it has appointed Aziz Sawaf as chief financial officer, starting Oct. 5. Sawaf succeeds Brent Sabatini as the company's principal financial officer, Vir said in a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission. Sabatini will continue in his role as chief accounting officer, the company said. In July, the company said Jason O'Byrne was resigning as CFO, effective Aug. 3, to pursue another opportunity, and that it appointed Sabatini as interim principal financial officer. Sawaf joins Vir from Theravance Biopharma, where he served as CFO, the company added.
