The Final Meme Season Is Taking Shape: 5 Altcoins Worth Watching Before the Next Big Crypto Move

  • XRP and LTC remain primarily associated with payments and digital asset transfers.
  • HYPE, SUI, and AVAX provide exposure to different areas of blockchain infrastructure and decentralized applications.
  • A new altcoin season requires broader market confirmation, rather than relying solely on promotional social-media claims.

The market has been keeping an eye on the altcoin market in the past few weeks as traders are now weighing the possibility of another major shift towards alternative cryptocurrencies in the final quarter of 2026. The recent meme season chat has also been the subject of a wider conversation than the more popular tokens that are linked to speculation rallies.

XRP, Hyperliquid, Sui, Avalanche and Litecoin are a few of the different categories of the cryptocurrency market. They can be employed in various applications, such as payments, decentralized trading, smart contracts, and blockchain infrastructure. Despite the social media posts suggesting otherwise, there is still a lot of work to be done if there is to be a final altcoin or memecoin season, as overall market participation would still rely on liquidity, trading volume, network usage, and investor demand.

XRP Remains Focused on Payments and Asset Transfers

XRP is the layer-1 blockchain’s native digital asset that records and processes transactions on the XRP Ledger, a decentralized blockchain. Instead of the conventional proof-of-work mining or proof-of-stake validation processes, the network operates a consensus mechanism. Ledger’s emphasis on payments and asset transfers are supported by transactions being confirmed within seconds. The XRP Ledger has also evolved from payment services to include infrastructure that enables tokenization of assets and decentralized applications. While multiple independent contributors to the network, Ripple is one company using XRP and the XRP Ledger to build.

HYPE Powers Hyperliquid’s Trading Ecosystem

Hyperliquid has developed around decentralized trading infrastructure, with spot and perpetual order books forming major applications on its blockchain. Its native token, HYPE, is used within the network for ownership, governance, and security.

The Hyperliquid ecosystem is therefore positioned differently from traditional payment-focused cryptocurrencies. Its activity is closely connected to decentralized exchange infrastructure, particularly derivatives and spot markets. The project describes its blockchain as infrastructure intended to bring different financial applications onto the same network.

SUI Targets High-Speed Blockchain Applications

Sui is a Layer-1 blockchain designed for applications requiring programmable assets, decentralized finance, and high-speed transaction processing. Its ecosystem includes infrastructure for liquidity, decentralized applications, identity, and autonomous systems.

Sui has also developed a growing stablecoin ecosystem. According to Sui’s own data, stablecoin activity generates gas-fee revenue and stablecoin yield, with part of that yield being used for SUI buybacks. The mechanism connects network activity with token purchases made by the Sui Foundation.

Avalanche Supports Multiple Blockchain Networks

Avalanche is a Layer-1 blockchain platform that supports multiple Avalanche L1 networks. AVAX serves as the native asset of the ecosystem and is used for transaction fees, staking, and network operations.

AVAX also has a capped maximum supply of 720 million tokens. Transaction fees paid on the Avalanche Primary Network are burned, while new AVAX can be minted as rewards for validators. This creates a token model that combines network usage, staking, issuance, and fee burning.

Litecoin Continues Its Payment-Focused Role

Litecoin is one of the older cryptocurrencies still operating within the market. Its network was designed primarily around digital payments, with Litecoin describing itself as digital money intended for worldwide transactions at relatively low cost.

Unlike newer smart-contract platforms, Litecoin’s core identity remains centered on transferring value. Its long operating history and established infrastructure have kept LTC within the group of widely recognized crypto assets, although its market behavior can still change with broader conditions.

Why These Five Remain on the Radar

The five cryptocurrencies represent different market segments rather than a single narrative. XRP is associated with payments and tokenized assets, HYPE with decentralized trading, SUI with newer blockchain applications, AVAX with multi-chain infrastructure, and LTC with digital payments.

That variety makes the group relevant when the market begins shifting between different crypto narratives. However, a social-media claim about a “final” altcoin or memecoin season does not by itself establish that such a cycle has started. Network activity, liquidity, market participation, and sustained demand would provide stronger indicators of whether the broader market is actually entering another extended rotation.
