United Therapeutics Wins Patent Lawsuit Against Liquidia

04:44 AM EDT, 10/01/2026 (MT Newswires) -- United Therapeutics (UTHR) said Thursday the US District Court for the District of Delaware ruled that Liquidia Technologies infringed two claims of its patent covering treprostinil that can be inhaled for pulmonary hypertension associated with interstitial lung disease. The court determined Liquidia induced infringement by marketing its Yutrepia drug for pulmonary hypertension, while failing to prove the patent claims invalid, the company said. United Therapeutics intends to request an order requiring the US Food and Drug Administration to revoke approval of Yutrepia and will seek monetary damages for sales already made, United Therapeutics said. The company said the court gave both companies one week to agree on the final order. If they cannot reach an agreement, the court will decide what the order should include, United Therapeutics said.
