Singapore Dollar Edges Lower, Weighed by Higher U.S. Treasury Yields -- Market Talk
Dow Jones2026/10/01 02:400240 GMT - The Singapore dollar weakens slightly against its U.S. counterpart in the Asian trading session, weighed by higher U.S. Treasury yields that tend to lead to demand for the greenback. Long-end Treasury yields remain elevated amid higher oil prices and broader fiscal concerns, two strategists at OCBC Group Research say in a report. In the near term, the U.S. dollar-Singapore dollar pair could be supported if Treasury yields remain high, the strategists add. The U.S. dollar is 0.1% higher at 1.2792 Singapore dollars, LSEG data show. (ronnie.harui@wsj.com)
