CANADA FX DEBT - Canadian dollar weakens, benchmark yield climbs
Reuters2026/09/30 19:00The Canadian dollar weakened against the greenback on Wednesday, and the yield on benchmark government debt climbed.
The loonie CAD= was trading 0.3% lower at C$1.4227 to the greenback, or 70.29 U.S. cents, after trading in a range of 1.4155 to 1.4229.
Canadian government 10-year bond yields CA10YT=RR rose 3.2 basis points to 3.999%. The yield on similar U.S. government benchmark debt rose to 5.2934%.
U.S. November crude CLc1 futures rose $1.04 to settle at $90.42 a barrel on Wednesday.
