Better Home & Finance Former CEO Wins Support to Regain Control of Board

10:47 AM EDT, 09/30/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Better Home & Finance (BETR) founder and former CEO Vishal Garg said Wednesday his investment group has secured written consents representing over 51% of the company's voting shares, allowing him to return to the company less than two months after stepping down. Garg said after the proxy results are formally accepted, his Garg Group will implement a 90-day plan that includes appointing an interim CEO; reconstituting the company's board; streamlining operations and implementing a $30 million stock repurchase plan. Garg said he will serve as head of product, platform and innovation following the transition. Better Home & Finance shares were more than 18% higher in Wednesday trading.
