09:25 AM EDT, 09/30/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The Toronto-Dominion Bank (TD.TO, TD) intends to start a CA$10 billion new share buyback program, it said Wednesday. The new buyback will represent up to 3.74% of its 1.63-billion shares issued and outstanding as of Aug. 31. The company said the buyback program is not to exceed 61-million shares and intends to complete the program by July 2027. TD will start the new buyback under its existing normal course issuer bid (NCIB), of which the repurchase of CA$7 billion of its shares has been completed. The bank intends to launch a new NCIB to continue repurchasing its shares under the new buyback, subject to TSX approval. The bank may also buy back shares on the New York Stock Exchange or other designated exchanges and published markets in Canada and the U.S., it added. US-listed shares of the company were last seen up 0.9% at CA$120.10 in pre-market trading.
