Sector Update: Healthcare

09:03 AM EDT, 09/30/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Healthcare stocks were flat to lower pre-bell Wednesday, with the iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) inactive and the State Street Health Care Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLV) down 0.2%. Moderna (MRNA) has appointed Juan Andres to the newly created role of chief operating officer, effective Oct. 5, the company said. Citigroup downgraded the company's stock to sell from neutral and adjusted the price target to $80 from $60. Shares of Moderna were down 8% premarket.
