Kailera Therapeutics Completes Enrollment for Trial of Ribupatide to Treat Obesity

07:44 AM EDT, 09/30/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Kailera Therapeutics (KLRA) said Wednesday that enrollment in the KaiNETIC global phase 3 clinical program evaluating ribupatide injection to treat people who are obese or overweight has been completed. The company said the program includes three trials with participants enrolled at more than 200 sites in 11 countries, and that it expects topline data to be released in mid-2028. Kailera said about 2,500 adults were enrolled in the first study, while about 1,200 adults with type 2 diabetes joined the second study. The third study enrolled about 1,200 adults with a BMI of at least 35 who do not have type 2 diabetes, it added. Kailera said the studies are evaluating weekly doses of up to 10 mg over 76 weeks, including up to 24 weeks of dose titration and at least 52 weeks of maintenance treatment. The third study will compare ribupatide with a placebo and semaglutide 2.4 mg, with the main measure being the change in body weight after 76 weeks, Kailera said.
