Algorand price prediction stays bullish above $0.1017, the top of its weekly Bull Market Support Band, after ALGO surged 11.5% this week and pulled back from a fresh high near $0.14.

ALGO trades near $0.13299, down 2.15% today after touching a high of $0.14031, pulling back from a resting resistance zone that’s held since June. That zone, stretching roughly from $0.135 to $0.14, marks a pocket of untaken liquidity from earlier this year, and today’s high pushed directly into it before price faded. A cleaner support zone sits lower, near $0.08, tied to the July and August lows that ALGO bounced from before this month’s rally began.

The weekly chart shows the bigger picture. ALGO closed the week up 11.52% at $0.13325, breaking out of the consolidation range it had traded inside since early this year, roughly $0.095 to $0.135.

Price now sits above both the 20-week EMA at $0.10148 and the 50-week EMA at $0.11973, and above the weekly Bull Market Support Band between $0.09615 and $0.10166, though it remains below the 100-week EMA at $0.15453 and the 200-week EMA at $0.23709, both reminders of how far this year’s downtrend has carried price from its longer-term averages.

Type Price
Resistance $0.1403
Resistance $0.15
Resistance $0.1545
Support $0.1197
Support $0.1017
Support $0.08

Algorand reached 11.91 transactions per second on September 28 while processing 1.03 million transactions in a single day, a new weekly throughput high, according to Chainspect.

Crossing a million transactions in 24 hours marks a notable jump in network activity, landing in the same week as ALGO’s sharp price move.

Algorand Foundation CEO William Herkelrath answered community questions in a Reddit AMA, laying out his early priorities for the network. He named self-sustainability as the top goal for what he’s calling Algorand 2.0, targeting it within five years, with every existing initiative and partnership now being reviewed against that objective.

A few specific points stood out:

  • Revenue plan: Deliver services the market will pay for, then use that revenue to become a net buyer of ALGO and increase payouts to node operators
  • Security focus: Doubling down on post-quantum attestation and validation services offered to other chains, plus exploring how Algorand’s PQ stack could help secure tokenized stock markets
  • Enterprise access: Enterprises will soon be able to use the Algorand network without touching ALGO directly
  • Multi-chain strategy: Cross-chain bridging, swapping, and messaging are core to the 2027 roadmap, with implementation details expected in early Q1 2027
  • Fees: No plans to raise transaction fees, though charging more for higher-value application-layer products is being explored
  • DeFi liquidity: Open to low-risk opportunities that support self-sustainability, with a few pitches already reviewed

Herkelrath said he spent most of his first month on business development, focused on bringing more mainstream partners and traffic onto the network, and said he’s taking several months to settle in before executing a new plan tied to the network’s King Safety security paper.

ALGO holds above $0.1017 and clears the resistance zone near $0.14 on a sustained basis. Continued attention on the network’s throughput milestone and the new CEO’s roadmap could support a push toward the 100-week EMA at $0.1545.

ALGO loses the 50-week EMA at $0.1197 and slips back into its prior consolidation range. A fading breakout or broader pullback after this week’s sharp gain would fit that scenario, exposing the weekly Bull Market Support Band near $0.0962 to $0.1017 next, with $0.08 the deeper support below that.

What is the Algorand price prediction this week?

ALGO could extend toward $0.1545 if it holds above $0.1017 and clears resistance near $0.14. Losing $0.1017 risks a slide back into the $0.095 to $0.135 range ALGO spent most of the year inside.

Why did Algorand’s network activity spike?

Algorand hit 11.91 TPS and processed 1.03 million transactions in a single day on September 28, a new weekly throughput high, according to Chainspect, though the specific driver behind the spike wasn’t detailed.

What is Algorand’s new CEO planning?

William Herkelrath named self-sustainability as Algorand’s top priority, aiming to make the Foundation a net buyer of ALGO through new revenue, alongside a multi-chain strategy and expanded post-quantum security services.

Will Algorand raise transaction fees?

No. Herkelrath said there are no plans to raise fees, though the Foundation may explore charging more for higher-value products and services at the application layer instead.
