08:56 AM EDT, 09/23/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were mixed pre-bell Wednesday, with the State Street Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLP) 0.2% higher and the State Street Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLY) down 0.1%. Maplebear (CART) stock was up more than 5.3% after the company said it is incorporating Meta Platform's (META) Muse AI tool into its grocery-shopping infrastructure.
