Amazon Raising Minimum Starting Pay for Full-Time Core Operators to $20 Per Hour

09:27 AM EDT, 09/16/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Amazon (AMZN) said Wednesday it is raising the minimum starting pay for US full-time core operations workers to $20 per hour, with average pay hitting nearly $24 per hour. Average total compensation will top $32 per hour when including benefits, Amazon said. The tech giant is also providing membership to First Tech Federal Credit Union to qualified workers and their families for life through a program called Day 1 Financial. Amazon employees will also be eligible for an uncapped 10% discount on eligible fresh groceries and everyday essentials on Amazon.com and Whole Foods Market Online, as well as 20% off in-store at Whole Foods.
