Most panda coin types from the 2026 edition steadily rebounded in August
In August, the gold and silver coin market welcomed a major additional issuance project: The People's Bank of China issued a set of commemorative gold and silver coins for the 100th anniversary of Jiang Zemin's birth on August 17, 2026, including 2 gold coins and 1 silver coin, all of which are legal tender of the People's Republic of China. Among them, the 30-gram silver coin is most sought after by collectors, performing relatively well in the market. The full set also enjoys a good premium, while the price of the gold and silver coin set is temporarily near its initial issue price. Overall, the market performance is acceptable.
Regarding other newly issued and alternative gold and silver coin types, boosted by the rebound in international precious metals prices, the prices of some gold and silver coins have edged up slightly.
Among these, the price of the Beijing Central Axis gold and silver commemorative coins saw a slight rebound in August, with future price trends largely influenced by demand. The 2026 China Bingwu (Horse) Year precious metal commemorative coins experienced a slight price decline for most types in August due to limited market demand.
Affected by gold and silver price fluctuations and market supply, the prices of most 2026 Panda precious metal commemorative coins continued their steady rebound in August.
