03:40 AM EDT, 09/14/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Astrazeneca (AZN) said Monday a late-stage study of its drug Enhertu showed a six-month improvement in median progression-free survival as a first-line treatment for advanced HER2-mutant non-small cell lung cancer. The drug, developed in collaboration with Daiichi Sankyo, demonstrated median progression-free survival of 14.3 months, compared with 8.3 months for the global standard of care, which includes pembrolizumab plus chemotherapy. Additionally, the Swedish-British company said a separate Phase 3 trial showed that Tagrisso provided a sustained, clinically meaningful overall survival benefit at eight years compared with placebo in patients with early-stage EGFR-mutated lung cancer following complete tumor resection.
