  1. The United States has imposed a maritime blockade on Iran for nearly two months, severely restricting Iran's crude oil exports. This has both worsened Iran's domestic economic difficulties and tightened supply in the global crude oil market.
  2. Sentinel satellite images from the European Union show that in the past two weeks, no very large oil tankers have loaded oil at Kharg Island, Iran's main crude oil export port; tanker tracking data indicates that Iran's crude oil exports in August accounted for only a small fraction of pre-war levels.
  3. Traders report that Iran's available crude oil supply continues to decrease, and the trading premium for stored crude in the Asian market is rapidly rising. The Governor of Iran's Central Bank previously admitted that oil exports have almost come to a halt, though the country's Oil Minister subsequently stated that crude oil is still being delivered to customers.
  4. According to Kpler data, onshore crude inventories in Iran have climbed again, nearing the May peak; Vortexa data shows that a large volume of crude oil is now stranded on tankers within the blockaded waters, with floating storage inventories continuing to rise.
