According to a spokesperson for the investment division of Royal Bank of Canada, portfolio manager Maya Funaki, based in Hong Kong, is set to depart from RBC BlueBay Asset Management under the bank's investment arm. Maya manages approximately 1 trillion Japanese yen (about $6.5 billion) in Japanese equities and 700 billion Japanese yen in Asian (excluding Japan) equities, and in June accurately predicted that the AI rally would slow down. A spokesperson for RBC BlueBay Asset Management confirmed that Maya's last day at the Hong Kong office is in August.
